Mobile  Animal Assisted Activities  Services

Wellness Care Farm

 Nourishing Hearts' mobile services facilitates Animal-Assisted Activities (AAA), with therapy chickens for people living in residential facilities or are participants at institutional settings such as schools, treatment facilities and day programs. This unique and innovative mobile service overcomes the transportation barriers that often make farm-based services inaccessible to many individuals. AAA stimulates oxytocin,  encourages social interaction and contact, while offering unconditional love, reassurance and soothing comfort. As a recreational activity it promote physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual well-being. This is a feel good engagement that aims to improve the quality of life for residents, students and staff while also giving a morale boost to the facility. Services are tailored to client’s unique needs.​​​​​​​​
Activities Include:

  • Petting and grooming the animals
  • Walk and feeding the animals
  • ​Simple obstacle task

Program Structure

  • Individual
  • Structured Group (maximum 5 residents)
  • Room-to-Room
  • Drop-In

Therapy Animals



$100 per 1.5 hour visit

Health and Safety

All therapy chickens have been:

  • Hand raised
  • Highly socialized 
  • Fully diapered
  • ​Regularly bathed and groomed
